William is President and sole owner of Sojourner Drilling Corporation, Abilene, Texas. William attended Angelo State University as well as Abilene Christian University. Sojourner Drilling Corporation was created by W.C. “Bill” Sojourner in 1946. His son, William C. “Bill Jr.” Sojourner, Jr. then took over as President in 1960 and served through 1996. William C. Sojourner, III purchased the company from family members and outside shareholders in 1990. In September, 2006, the TEXAS ALLIANCE OF ENERGY PRODUCERS awarded W.C. “Bill” Sojourner, Sr. and William C. Sojourner, Jr. the ‘LEGENDS MEDAL AWARD’ for their many years of participation and perpetuation of the Oil and Gas industry. The company has significantly grown under William’s leadership. The company owns interests in and operates over 300 wells primarily in the Eastern Shelf, as well as the Permian Basin, Fort Worth Basin and Gulf Coast. The company takes an integrated approach to the exploration and production business. William has built a well respected team, including an accountant, in-house attorney, land department, regulatory specialist, geologist and petroleum engineer/field engineer. The staff utilizes seismic technology and is experienced in vertical as well as horizontal exploration, has knowledge of current drilling and completion techniques that are associated with resources plays. The company operates its own equipment, including roustabout, well service units, tank bottom reclamation, and a repair/fabrication facility. The company operates with no debt and its significant growth has been achieved with internally generated cash flow. |
