John M.
(John) Hill
- Land & Mineral Operations
John
is an independent and has been actively involved in the oil
and gas business for the past 35 years. While earning his BBA
degree from Southern Methodist University in
Dallas,
Texas,
John worked part-time as a geological assistant and landman
for his father, John D. Hill who was an independent geologist.
John then worked as a landman for Dyco Petroleum Association
in
Tulsa,
Oklahoma.
In 1977, he co-founded HLH Corporation, a start up, publicly
traded oil and gas company. Successful explorations allowed
them to expand the core business and in 1980 HLH acquired
Dixon Drilling. In 1983, John founded HPC Operating and
served as co-owner until 1997 when the company sold operations
to EXCO Resources. John has since worked with multiple
industry partners to buy oil and gas production and developed
geological prospects that have resulted in significant oil and
gas reserves. He remains active and abreast of the industry
regulations through his involvement with AAPL and the Dallas
Producers. John is one of the original owners and directors
of Little Pine Resources. He currently is overseeing the oil
and gas leasing of the company.
